Position Summary: 
The SAP BASIS and Security Consultant will be responsible for the installation, configuration, administration, and performance optimization of SAP systems. You will also be responsible for ensuring the security, compliance, and integrity of SAP environments by implementing best practices for user access, authorization management, and overall system security. The consultant will work closely with clients, business stakeholders, and internal teams to ensure that SAP systems are running securely, efficiently, and in alignment with best practices. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Install, configure, and maintain SAP systems, including SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC, SAP BW, SAP Fiori, and other SAP applications. 

  • Perform regular SAP system upgrades, patches, and migrations to ensure systems remain current and secure. 

  • Monitor and troubleshoot SAP system performance, identify bottlenecks, and recommend performance improvements. 

  • Implement and manage SAP Security solutions, including user authorization and role management using SAP Profile Generator (PFCG). 

  • Configure and maintain SAP routers, SAP GUI, and SAP Web Dispatcher for secure communication and system access. 

  • Ensure data integrity and security in SAP environments by enforcing access control policies, encryption protocols, and compliance with security standards. 

  • Implement Single Sign-On (SSO) and two-factor authentication (2FA) for SAP environments to enhance security. 

  • Manage SAP user roles, authorizations, and access rights to ensure appropriate segregation of duties (SoD) and compliance with internal policies. 

  • Conduct security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing for SAP systems to identify and resolve security risks. 

  • Set up and maintain SAP Security Policies and ensure that SAP landscapes meet organizational and industry security standards. 

  • Support SAP Fiori security configurations, ensuring that users have the proper roles and authorizations to access Fiori apps. 

  • Provide guidance on SAP Cloud Security, including security considerations for SAP BTP, SAP S/4HANA Cloud, and other cloud-based SAP solutions. 

  • Ensure system backups, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans are in place and tested regularly. 

  • Monitor SAP system logs, handle incidents and resolve system issues to ensure high availability of SAP systems. 

  • Collaborate with the functional and technical teams to resolve complex system issues and ensure smooth integration between SAP and other systems. 

  • Provide end-user training and support for SAP security and BASIS-related topics. 

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of SAP security best practices and emerging trends in cybersecurity for SAP environments. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 

  • 5+ years of experience as an SAP BASIS and SAP Security consultant or administrator. 

  • Strong expertise in SAP system administration (installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, etc.) for SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC, SAP BW, and other SAP applications. 

  • In-depth knowledge of SAP security concepts such as user management, role-based access control (RBAC), authorization management, and profile generation. 

  • Experience with SAP Security tools like PFCG, SAP GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance), SAP Identity Management, and SAP Solution Manager. 

  • Proficiency in SAP NetWeaver, SAP HANA, SAP Fiori, and SAP Cloud Platform for security administration. 

  • Hands-on experience with SAP Fiori security configuration for role and authorization management. 

  • Familiarity with SAP HANA security and data encryption protocols. 

  • Experience with performance tuning, troubleshooting, and system optimization for SAP environments. 

  • Strong understanding of SAP transport management, change management, and system landscapes. 

  • Experience with cloud-based SAP security solutions and managing SAP in a hybrid or cloud environment. 

  • Familiarity with SAP SSO (Single Sign-On) and two-factor authentication (2FA) solutions. 

  • Solid knowledge of networking protocols, firewalls, and system integration for secure communication between SAP systems and external applications. 

  • Experience with backup and recovery solutions, and disaster recovery planning for SAP systems. 

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with stakeholders at various levels, including business users, IT teams, and management. 

  • Ability to work in a team and independently, providing technical support for complex SAP systems and security issues. 

  • SAP BASIS or SAP Security Certification is a plus. 

Preferred Skills: 

  • Experience with SAP GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) and SAP Identity Management. 

  • Familiarity with SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform) and cloud-based SAP environments. 

  • Understanding of multi-tier SAP environments and integration with non-SAP systems. 

  • Knowledge of SAP HANA database security, HANA role-based access, and HANA user administration. 

  • Hands-on experience with containerized SAP deployments and SAP on Kubernetes is a plus.
